Welcome to my UA-cam channel! Lots of tutorials and interesting videos on fluid pour paintings, abstract and acrylic art. Be inspired to learn!
For acrylic artist Soraya Silvestri, nature provides the inspiration for her art and practice. If you look closely, each painting hints at a cloudy sky, a storm breaking, a or mountain peak. The abundance of emotion and energy in nature are echoed in her artwork.
Soraya looks to nature to find colour, pattern, and composition that she then translates to canvas in a unique and delicate way. Influenced by fearless masters of colour, Soraya strives to create interplay of light and dark hues, experimenting with colour, form, and shadow.

Using A Sponge~Atmospheric Landscape or Ethereal Abstract Painting? #359
Creating my 30" x 40" acrylic painting was an exciting and innovative process. Using a sponge, I applied a variety of colors to the canvas, carefully considering how the hues and patterns would interact. Horizontally, the painting reveals a tranquil landscape, with gentle blending that mimics the rolling hills, serene skies, and distant mountains. The sponge technique allowed for a natural, almost ethereal or atmospheric quality, making the scenery appear soft and dreamlike. However, when the canvas is turned vertically, the same colors and textures transform into an abstract composition. The landscape elements become dynamic shapes and vibrant swirls, challenging the viewer's perception and inviting them to find new meanings within the abstraction. This duality makes the painting not only a versatile piece of art but also a conversation starter, as it embodies both the serenity of nature and the excitement of abstract expression.
I'd love to know if you like the horizontal version or the vertical. Leave me a comment!

Horizontal ❤ beautiful btw
Thanks so much 😀
Hi, I love your work. I’ve been trying it myself, but have some challenges. Do you let each color dry on the canvas before switching colors. I think I blend mine too much and wind up with “browns.”
Thanks so much! When I apply the colours, it is with minimal amounts so most often they dry very quickly. I also am using colours that will blend beautifully even if they are wet. If you’re using colours on the opposite side of the spectrum you will get a muddy finish. Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes 😀
Amazing Soraya🌺👍🏼
Thank you very much 😀
I love it. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!💖
❤❤❤
😀🙏❤️
Haha, I've never painted with a sponge before but it looks really great!😍👍

Vertical but upside down from the way you showed it.

That’s tough! Love it both ways! So pretty🤩 😂❤
Thank you! 🤗
Bellísimo !!!
Grazie 😀
Soraya, love love love your sponge 🧽 paintings. They are Heavenly. I was wondering if you think it would work well on black canvas. I have quite a few and would like to use some. Have you ever tried this technique on a black canvas? I was thinking titanium white with light blues and violet, gold turquoise and pewter or Paynes gray all blended on a black canva…let me know what you think.🩵
Hi! Thank you so much! I haven’t tried it on a black canvas but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Try it out and please let me know how it goes 😀
I love this painting so much! It is so atmospheric and I love your use of color. I am always amazed at how people try to tell other people how to paint their paintings. I want to tell them, go paint your own.😄 Anyway, your work fascinates me! I am going to give your technique a try, but I am guessing it isn’t as easy as you make it look.
Thank you so much 😀 so glad you’re going to try it! Give yourself permission to fail. I’ve been doing this for many years. Just have fun and learn along the way. You’ll get it. Thanks so much 😀💖
